Michael Eugene Keever

By Jon Mayhew (Lincolnton)
A 37-year-old Lincolnton man is arrested at Walmart on North Generals Boulevard Saturday afternoon around 4pm after trying to leave the store with a 32-inch television set.

Store employees said Michael Eugene Keever of Shady Pine Lane tried to leave the store through the garden center with the merchandise. When they asked to see a receipt, the suspect showed them one; however, it was not the one for the television.

Officer Dwayne McAllister arrived at the store and arrested Keever. Employees told Officer McAllister Keever also tried to leave the front of the store with the TV.

Keever was taken to the Lincoln County Magistrate's Office on two felony counts of obtaining property by false pretenses. Magistrate P. Beal gave Keever a $5,000 secured bond before he was taken to the Lincoln County Jail.
