LINCOLNTON
-- The Carolina Scoop, along with Fatz Cafe of
Lincolnton, recently presented Lincolnton Police
detective Chuck
McGinley with the August "Officer of the
Month" award.
Exclusive video on The Carolina Scoop shows
publisher Jon Mayhew and LPD Captain Cindy Monday
giving
McGinley the award, which includes a $25 gift
certificate to Fatz Cafe.
One of McGinley's arrests earlier in the summer
involved arresting a suspect that broke into
Keever Pharmacy, near
Carolinas Medical Center Lincoln.
McGinley was on duty at the hospital and rushed
to the scene of Keever Pharmacy. As he headed up
the street from the
hospital, he noticed the suspect riding his
scooter down the road.
"He was heading towards the hospital when I
passed him," said McGinley. "He had a
bag of change
on his lap."
One of McGinley's other arrests included
assisting officers in the apprehension of four
breaking-and-entering suspects,
which were initially spotted at the Food Lion
store in Boger City last month.
