2009 Master
Gardener Volunteer Program
CATAWBA COUNTY -- The
Master Gardener Volunteer Program has
made important contributions to Catawba
County Homeowners and the gardening
public since it began in 1983. The N.C.
Cooperative Extension Service is looking
for good gardeners willing to help
continue this program!
A participant in the program will receive
more than 50 hours of horticultural
training by Fred Miller, County Extension
Director and Horticultural Agent. Other
professionals have also been scheduled to
present classes and demonstrations.
At the end of the training period, a
written exam will be given. Upon
successful completion of the exam and 50
hours of volunteer service, a participant
becomes a certified Master Gardener
Volunteer. The cost for the Master
Gardener Volunteer Manual and other
materials is $70.00.
The first class will be on Thursday,
January 29, 2009
