MAN
CHARGED IN DRUG CASE

-- A Lincoln County man faces charges in
Cherryville after police say he sold
drugs to them.
According
to a press release from the Cherryville
Police Department, Sgt. Frank Dellinger
made four controlled buys using a
confidential informant with Brodis Crouse
Baxter, 58, 7113 Lingerfelt Road, Vale.
"Baxter sold hydrocodone pills to
the informant," said Dellinger.
"Hydrocodone contains opium."
Baxter was stopped after the fourth sale
to the informant. In addition to Sgt.
Dellinger, Captain Jason Green; Lt. Mike
Allred and Sgt. Daniel Howell assisted in
the arrest of Baxter.
Authorities found $420 in cash on the
suspect as well as more than 100
hydrocodone pills.
Baxter was taken to the Gaston County
Jail under a $50,000 secured bond. His
first appearance hearing was in Gaston
court on Wednesday.
