-- A Lincolnton man is arrested
by police after assaulting his girlfriend
and giving officers a fake name.
The
assault happened at the apartment of
Bobby Joe Neal.
Police
were called around 4:45am Sunday to
Woodhill Apartments, where Neal at first
told authorities "everything was
OK."
According
to Lt. Kenny Shrum, everything turned out
not to be OK -- for Neal.
"We
received information that the victim was
at the Magistrate's Office taking out
charges against Neal," said Shrum.
"She also told us that he used a
fake name."
When
authorities confronted Neal by using his
real name, they also discovered he had
failure to appear charges from
Mecklenburg County.
In the
Lincoln incident, Neal was charged with
assaulting a female; interfering with
emergency communications and
communicating threats.
He was
taken to the Harven A. Crouse Detention
Center under a $12,800 secured bond.
