MAN WITH INFANT IN CAR ASSAULTED

LINCOLNTON – A 22-year-old male with his infant in the car is assaulted in the parking lot of a Lincolnton restaurant.

Officer Richard Harrington said the incident happened at Tradewinds at 1426 East Main Street.

“The man was driving around the parking lot waiting for a take out order so his baby would stay asleep,” said Harrington.

He pulled up behind four people in a red sports utility vehicle that was blocking his path. The victim honked his horn to get the vehicle to move.

One of the subjects stepped out of the vehicle and walked over to the victim’s residence, striking the victim several times.

Harrington said the man didn’t require medical attention and didn’t want to press charges in the incident.
