As the Extreme Makeover: Home Edition residence in Lincolnton quickly takes shape, the ABC network announced Thursday the series would end its run.

The last regular show is scheduled for January 13, 2012. The show will air specials including the James and Devonda Friday house, which is scheduled to air in December.

The reveal of the house is scheduled for Saturday.

The Carolina Scoop’s Kirk Herbertson has been volunteering at the house and also shooting pictures and video of the progress.

The Friday’s new house includes a rock-climbing wall with seven bedrooms and four baths. Producers of the show chose the family over several applicants in the Charlotte region.

The family was sent to Jamaica for an entire week and is scheduled to return sometime Saturday.
