WRECK SENDS TWO TO HOSPITALS

LINCOLNTON -- Around 4pm Monday, North 321 Firefighters, Lincoln EMS and Lincoln Rescue were called to the 3100 block of Maiden Highway, where two vehicles collided.

According to firefighters at the scene one of the vehicles rolled over .

Two people were transported to Carolinas Medical Center Lincoln, with one patient being airlifted to Carolinas Medical Center in Charlotte.

Authorities blocked Maiden Highway off at Car Farm Road as well as Horseshoe Lake Road while they worked the accident.

The North Carolina Highway Patrol is investigating the crash.

Maiden Highway reopened to traffic around 4:45pm.
