MANAGER RECOVERING
FROM GASTON PLANE CRASH

LINCOLNTON
-- The Lincoln County
Airport manager continues to recover
Sunday from a plane crash last week in
Gaston County.
Jeff
Lynn had just taken off from the Mauney
Field Airstrip south of Cherryville
Wednesday when his plane went down. Lynn
was able to call 911 and report he was in
a plane crash and badly injured.The
incident happened around 3 p.m.
Lynn was
airlifted to Carolinas Medical Center in
Charlotte and was expected to have
surgery Friday for two broken legs and a
broken hip.
Meanwhile,
the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA)
is still investigating why Lynn's plane
crashed.
Lynn has
been airport manager since 1997. At the
time of the crash, he was overseeing a
major expansion of the hangers at the
Lincoln County Airport.
Over the
weekend, a CMC Charlotte hospital
spokesperson said Lynn was in critical
condition.
