GASTONIA - L.W. Carroll, 85, of 701 Crowder's Creek Road, died June 7, 2009, at his home.

He was born in Lincoln County, son of the late Louis William and Nellie Mae Gibson Carroll. He was husband of the late Gladys Greene Carroll.

Survivors include three sons, Keith L. Carroll of Virginia Beach, Va., Arnie L. Carroll, Mike R. Carroll and wife Phyllis all of Gastonia; six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday at the Chapel of Woodlawn Funeral Home in Mount Holly with the Rev. Todd Marlowe officiating.

Interment will be in Gaston Memorial Park in Gastonia.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service Wednesday morning.
