A 30-year-old Lincolnton man is airlifted to Carolinas Medical Center in Charlotte with possible head injuries after an assault at the Lincoln House Restaurant early Saturday morning.

Around 1:30am, Lincolnton Police were called to the restaurant on Clark Drive to reports of an unconscious male in the parking lot who had been assaulted by two white male suspects.

Officer Tony Potts identified the victim as Kyle Woodrow Sigmon. Sigmon’s last known address is a residence on South Grove Street.

“He was waiting for a ride when he walked out to the parking lot,” said Potts. “That’s when the assault occurred.”

The suspects left in a green or blue Saturn that’s been traced to an address on Startown Road, near Richie Road and the Catwaba/Lincoln County line.

Authorities are searching for the suspects as of early Saturday morning and could not say what the altercation was over.

Lincoln EMS said the victim was bleeding from the back of the head and mouth. It’s not known the extent of the victim’s internal injuries.

Sigmon was transported to Carolinas Medical Center Lincoln by medic, taken directly to the helicopter then airlifted.
