BOILING SPRINGS - Mrs. Lillian Leola Childers Weaver, 91, of the Flint Hill Community, passed away at Gaston Memorial Hospital on Monday, June 8, 2009.

Mrs. Weaver was the daughter of the late of Grover Cleveland Childers and Maggie Champion Childers, born on August 23, 1917, in Cleveland County. Lillian accepted Christ at the age of 10. She was a faithful and active member of Flint Hill Baptist Church where she taught Sunday school for 22 years and then work with the homebound member as a traveling Sunday school teacher. After sickness kept her from her church she found comfort in the reading of her bible, which she kept on her nightstand.

Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Carl E. Weaver; her daughter, Lydia W. Parker and two brothers, Gene & Arthur Childers.

She is survived by her two sons, Sam Weaver and wife Tina of Gastonia and Jim Weaver and wife Doris of Fallston; six grandchildren, Jennifer Lester, Chris Weaver, Chad Weaver, Jason Becton, Katie Hoyle and Matthew Becton; and 10 great-grandchildren.

Visitation: the family will receive friends at Stamey Funeral Home of Fallston, Wednesday, from 6:30 to 8:00 P.M.

Funeral: The funeral will be held at Flint Hill Baptist Church, Thursday at 2:00 P.M. The body will be placed in the church thirty minutes before the service.

Burial: Cleveland Memorial Park
