firefighters have responded to an
electrical hazard call at the
intersection of Laurel Street and
Hoke Streets after a transformer
caught on fire.
Callers into the Lincoln County
Communications Center said there
was a loud explosion with smoke
and flames coming from the
transformer.
The public works department has
been called to fix the problem.
Numbers of the number of people
affected by the outage are not
available.
Public works officials said the
outage area is widespread.
