LIGHTS ON SOON

By Jon Mayhew

Sunday’s winter storm still has people in the dark in Lincoln County.

As of Wednesday afternoon, Duke Energy reports nearly 360 customers in the county are still without power.

One employee at the Bi-Lo on Highway 27 told The Carolina Scoop Tuesday night the store lost power around 11am Sunday.

“We’ve been on generator power since,” said the employee.

Around 300 customers in Cleveland and Gaston Counties are still without power as well.

Duke Energy’s estimated time of restoration is around 11pm Wednesday, according to the company’s Web site.

At the height of the winter storm, more than 180,000 people in the Carolinas were without power.
