MILESTONE AWARDS GIVEN TO INDUSTRY THURSDAY

Manufacturers, distributors and the motor sports industry in Lincolnton and Lincoln County were recognized Thursday afternoon, as the Lincoln Economic Development Association (LEDA) presented the fifth annual Milestone Achievement Awards.

According to LEDA existing business manager Crystal Gettys, there were a total of 14 recipients presented with the award.

“The awards are given to these industries for their past, present and future commitment to Lincolnton and Lincoln County,” said Gettys.

Among the industries awarded were Always on the Edge Sportswear; Anatech Ltd.; Herbert Performance Parts; R.W. Garcia; RSI Home Products and UCS, Inc., all 5 years.

Belding Hausman, The Timken Company and Crawford Race Cars, all 10 years.

Also, Actavis Mid Atlantic for 15 years; Universal Rubber for 20 years; Blum for 30 years; Leonard Automatics for 40 years and NC Spinning Mills for 45 years.

“The commitment, dedication and sustainability of these companies sheds a positive light for our community during these economic times,” said LEDA board chairman Pete Acker.
