Teachers give Lincoln County Schools
High Scores in State Survey

6/30/08

The 2008 NC Teacher Working Condition Survey results have been released and Lincoln County Schools scored above surrounding county school systems. In 2002, Governor Mike Easley began this initiative to make progress in improving the working conditions for teachers in North Carolina. He stated that “the best way to find out what our educators need is to ask them directly. That is the only way we will be able to get and keep quality teachers in every classroom in the state.”

Since 2002, school teachers and administrators have been asked to complete this survey every two years. The purpose of this survey is to assess satisfaction in the areas of time, professional development, facilities and resources, school leadership, and teacher empowerment. During the Spring of this year, 104,249 teachers statewide completed this survey answering various questions regarding school working conditions and future plans in education.
