HUNTERSVILLE -- Everyone is
talking about the LaughMS event held April 24th
at The Comedy Zone-Lake Norman, Galway Hooker.
The event was formed by two couples with a
personal relationship to multiple sclerosis. They
are pleased to announce the donation of
approximately $5,750 to the Mid-Atlantic Chapter
of the National Multiple Sclerosis Society from
the help and sponsorship of many local
businesses, as well as those attending the show.
The first annual LaughMS was held to engage the
Lake Norman community in raising awareness around
finding a cure for multiple sclerosis (MS). The
organizers found a way to bring people together,
raise money to donate to their local chapter and
have a good time while doing it.
The committee for LaughMS will continue to bring
more public awareness with their preparation for
the 2009 event. This fundraiser will provide the
support needed to continue researching the cause
and a cure.
The mission of the National Multiple Sclerosis
Society is to end the devastating effects of MS.
The Mid-Atlantic Chapter is committed to a
philosophy of wellness, offering the
encouragement, materials and skills necessary to
achieve and maintain a meaningful lifestyle for
people living with multiple sclerosis and their
families. The Society serves people with MS,
their families and health care professionals
through education, advocacy, information, peer
support, therapeutic recreation and many other
programs.
