Lake Norman Relief Program Brings 21 Children
from Afghanistan to the U.S.
June 29, 2008
A touching scene as 21 children from Afghanistan
landed at Charlotte Douglas International Airport
this morning.
The children will stay here with host families
for six weeks as part of the Lake Norman
Children's Relief program.
During that time they will get medical, dental
and eye care and even minor surgery if needed.
This is the second year for some of the children
including Zi-mahn, "Let me tell you
something my American family is the best."
This program has grown significantly from last
year where families only hosted six children.
