DENVER -- A Mount Holly
man has been charged in the four
break-ins at Jones Exxon in Denver.
Edward Franklin Case Jr.,
40, was arrested early Thursday morning
after a chase involving Lincoln
County Sheriff's deputies and Charlotte
Mecklenburg Police.
Deputy T. Parker tried to stop a dark
colored Honda CRV on
South Little Egypt Road around 2:30 a.m.
and the vehicle sped
away. The officer chased the vehicle down
Highway 16 into
Mecklenburg County at speeds in excess of
100 miles an hour
but lost sight of the vehicle on Sunset
Drive.

Charlotte-Mecklenburg
officers located the vehicle and got it
stopped on West Sugar Creek Road near the
Patton Road
intersection. The driver of the vehicle
jumped and ran but
officers found him hiding under a porch.
Case was charged monday with four county
of breaking,
entering, larceny and damage to property
in the break-ins of
Jones Exxon, which is located at 504
South Highway 16.

Stolen
in the break-ins were scratch off lottery
tickets and cash.
Detective Mark Stamey recovered some of
the stolen lottery
tickets from a residence on Green Street
in Charlotte this
morning during the investigation.
Case is also charged with felony fleeing
to elude arrest driving
while license revoked. The suspect also
has outstanding
warrants in Mecklenburg County.
Case is currently in the Harven A. Crouse
Detention Center
under a $60,000 secured bond.
