Lincoln County Sheriff's Detective Mark Stamey hopes someone will recognize a white male and black male who broke into Jones Exxon on Highway 16.

DETECTIVES NEED PUBLIC’S HELP WITH INVESTIGATION

STANLEY – Lincoln County Sheriff’s Detective Mark Stamey is hoping someone will recognize two suspects in the Oct. 11, 2009 break-in of the Jones Exxon on Highway 16 South in eastern Lincoln County.

According to Detective Stamey, the suspects – identified as a white male and a black male – broke into the store around 2:30am.

Detective Stamey added the vehicle the pair used as a getaway car was reported stolen out of Gaston County. The vehicle is described as a blue, older-model Toyota with a damaged driver’s side front fender.

“The suspects are also suspected in break-ins in Gaston County,” said Detective Stamey. “Lincoln County Detectives are working in conjunction with detectives from other agencies on this case.”

Anyone with information is asked to call Detective Mark Stamey at (704) 732-9050 or Crimestoppers of Lincolnton/Lincoln County at (704) 736-8909. Anonymous tips that lead to an arrest in any crime are eligible for a reward of up to $1,000.
