Police detectives investigating larceny

A 67-year-old woman from the 2100 block of Heavner Road reports someone broke into her residence over the weekend and took more than $2,400 worth of jewelry.

Officers responded to the eastern part of the city Tuesday evening around 8pm and determined the resident discovered the theft about 24 hours prior.

According to Officer Brent Heavner's incident report, entry to the residence was not forcible.

A pear-shaped opal necklace and a white gold diamond necklace were taken, as well as an undisclosed amount of cash.

Detectives with the Lincolnton Police Department are investigating the case. Anyone with information on the case is asked to call Lincolnton Police at (704) 736-8900 or Crimestoppers at (704) 736-8909.

Anonymous tips leading to an arrest in any crime may be eligible for a reward of up to $1,000.
