CAR SEVERLY
DAMAGED DURING BREAK-IN, LARCENY
LINCOLNTON --
A 2004 Jeep SUV suffered extensive damage
during a breaking, entering and larceny
on Lincolntons north side, which
was reported around 6:45am Thursday.
Police responded to
Hillcrest Drive and spoke with the
victim, who told them she thought her
vehicle was secured last night before she
went to bed.
Officer Jimmy
Barlowe said in his report the vehicle
appeared to be unsecured.
Not only did the
suspects take items like a GPS navigation
system, cash and CDs, they poured bleach
and tanning lotion throughout the
vehicle. The vandals also cut and left
puncture marks in the seats.
The most heinous
damage, however, is when the vandals
broke the center dash panel in half and
ripped the glove box completely off.
More than $2,000 in
damage was done to the vehicle.
The case remains
under investigation.
