Beloved mother and wife, Ms. Jean “Mousie” Alwran, age 78, of Conover passed away Saturday, June 13, 2009 at Catawba Valley Medical Center in Hickory. Born September 16, 1930 in Catawba County, she was the daughter of the late M.R. Melchor and the late Edna Brady Melchor. Ms. Alwran was a member of Concordia Lutheran Church in Conover. She was retired after more than 20 years from Stewarts Jewelry in Conover. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 42 years, William “Bill” Alwran, and a brother, Mack Melchor.

She is survived by:

2 Sons: David Alwran and wife Debbie of Conover, John Alwran and wife Betty of Angier, NC.

6 Grandchildren, 8 Great-grandchildren

The family would like to extend a special thank you to all her loving neighbors

The funeral service will be held on Monday, June 15, 2009 at 2:00 p.m. at Concordia Lutheran Church in Conover with Rev. Michael Kane officiating.

Burial will follow in Conover City Cemetery.

The family will receive friends on Monday from 12:45-1:45 p.m. at the church prior to the service.

Memorials may be made to Palliative Care Center and Hospice of Catawba Valley, 3975 Robinson Road, Newton, NC 28658.
