MONROE - Jack Ray Moody, 76, died July 3, 2009, at Carolinas Medical Center in Charlotte.

Mr. Moody was born July 2, 1933, in Bessemer 9City, son of the late William Earl and Bertha Holder Moody.

He was a retired Monroe City policeman.
Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Thursday in the McEwen Colonial Chapel.

Interment will be in Lakeland Memorial Park.

Survivors include his wife, Ruth "Dean" H. Moody of the home; one son, Terry Michael Moody and wife Melinda of Gastonia; one daughter, Melody Kay Williams and husband Ted of Denver; four grandchildren, Brian Moody and wife Allison of Iron Station, Michael Moody of York, S.C., Cameron McDonald and Cody McDonald of Wilmington; one great-granddaughter, Baily Moody of Iron Station.

The family received friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Monday at McEwen Funeral and Cremation Service of Monroe.
