GASTONIA - Retired Sergeant Major Jack Junior Case, 71, died July 13, 2009, at Robin Johnson House, Dallas.

Born June 12, 1938, in Danville, Va., he was the son of the late Dolphus Logan and Bertha Jane Parton Case.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Ruby Anderson Case.

Mr. Case was a retired U. S. Air Force veteran and POW.

He received the Purple Heart and many Bronze Stars for his military service.

Survivors include his daughter: Felica Case Finandis of Lincolnton and a son, Jack Junior Case II of Gastonia; grand-children, Jacqueline Irene Case Hill, Jonathan Putnam, Christopher Michael West and Malcom Nathaniel Case; good friend, Katherine Staley of Gastonia.

A memorial service with military honors will be held 4 p.m. Tuesday, at Withers & Whisenant Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Doug Robinson officiating.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the funeral service.
