HICKORY - Beloved
Mother, Grandmother, Great Grandmother,
and Sister, Ms. Inez Leatherman Hull, age
92, of Hickory was called home to be with
her Lord and Savior Wednesday, June 17,
2009 at her residence. Born December 21,
1916 in Lincoln County, she was the
daughter of the late Russell Leatherman
and the late Laura Wise Leatherman. In
addition to her parents, she was preceded
in death by her husband, Ray Hull; a
sister, Merle Powell; and a
granddaughter, Glenda Vickers Crump. For
many years she worked at Roys
Jewelry Store. She and her husband were
owners of Hulls Texaco Convenience
Store in Hickory for over 30 years. She
loved family time, her pet dog
Charlie, going to the
mountains with her sisters, and enjoyed
meeting new people. Ms. Hull was a member
of Temple Baptist Church in Hickory. She
loved and believed in the Lord. While she
was able, she enjoyed being a part of her
church and church family.
She is survived by:
2 Sons: Gary Hull and wife Debbie of
Vale, Jimmy Hull of the home
5 Daughters: Betty Vickers of Hildebran,
Carolyn Dellinger of Cherryville, Freda
Maynor of Hickory, Pat Bost and husband
Terry of Hickory, Libby Pritchard and
husband Mike of Hickory
4 Sisters: Hazel Howell of Cherryville,
Edith Boyles of Hickory, Edna Huffstefler
of Lincolnton, Dorothy Baxter of Flay
Sister-in-law: Thelma H. Sellers of
Cherryville
12 Grandchildren, 12 Great grandchildren
The funeral service will be held on
Friday, June 19, 2009 at 2:00 p.m. at
Burke Mortuary Chapel in Newton with Rev.
Harold Cantrell and Peter West
officiating.
Burial will follow in Catawba Memorial
Park in Hickory. Serving as pallbearers:
Aaron Hull, Chad Maynor, JerryWayne
Moody, Jr., Matthew Mull, Scott Lowman,
and Johnny Boyles. Honorary pallbearers
are her sisters and sister-in-law.
The family will receive friends on Friday
from 12:45-1:45 p.m. at Burke Mortuary in
Newton prior to the service.
