NORTH
LINCOLN -- Firefighters from
five departments battled a structure fire
at a vacant house Thursday night.
Around
8:20 p.m., a neighbor of the old
Carpenter property at Pinewood Trail and
Maiden Highway called the Lincoln County
Communications Center to reports the
residence was on fire.
North
321 Fire Department was assisted by Boger
City; Lincolnton; South Fork; and Pumpkin
Center firefighters.
Exclusive
video on The Carolina Scoop shows the
intense flames as firefighters valiantly
battled the fire.
Flames
could be seen as high as 20 feet in the
air, while at least two fireballs could
be seen about 50 feet in the air.
Traffic
traveling north on Maiden Highway was
rerouted down Horseshoe Lake Road. Maiden
Highway was closed to allow fire trucks
and hoses to be strung across the road.
Medic
and the Lincoln County Lifesaving Crew
were on standby in case of firefighter
injuries. Firefighters had the fire under
control around 9:22 p.m.
The
Lincoln County Fire Marshal's Office is
investigating the blaze.
