HOLIDAY MARKETS OFFER GREAT GIFTS

The Lincoln County Farmers Market is ready for its first-ever Holiday Markets on Saturday, November 22. Both the Lincolnton and Denver locations will be participating
and will conclude their season with this special event. We’ll also be celebrating Farm-City Week with refreshments and cooking demonstrations, plus a wonderful gift bag and basket of local products which will be given away at each market. Thanks to the Lincoln County Apple Festival and Piedmont Farm Credit for sponsoring Farm-City Week activities this year. What better place to celebrate the mutual dependence of our rural and urban populations than at our farmers markets.

Let’s review the basics for each market. The Denver market is located at Rock Springs Elementary School on Highway 16. It will be open from 8:00 a.m. until 12 noon.

The refreshments will be available at 9:00 a.m. and this is also when Chef Blake Dewey will begin his cooking demonstration. Blake is co-owner of Pomodoro’s Café in Mooresville.

The Lincolnton location is at 225 West Water Street in Lincolnton. This is just a short distance from the James W. Warren Citizens Center. This market will open from 7:00 a.m. until 12 noon. Refreshments and a cooking demonstration will held at 9:00 a.m. Extension agent, Melinda Houser, will be demonstrating how to utilize fresh, local fall vegetables.

Right now, it looks as though we will have about ten vendors in Lincolnton and about twenty in Denver. There will be fall vegetables, honey, beef, apples, cider, and a variety of craft items for sale between the two markets. So you can start buying for your Thanksgiving feast as well as shopping for some special Christmas gifts. Some of these craft items will likely be unique gifts that you won’t find at other locations. Handmade soap is another popular gift for friends and co-workers that is unique and modestly priced. If you want to be sure to find a certain item, please feel free to call us at 704-736-8461 to find out at which location it can be found.

I hope you’ll join us for a special day of fun at our Holiday Farmers Markets on Saturday, November 22.
