Looking For One of 10 Most Wanted
Lincolnton - Lincoln
County Sheriffs detectives have charged a
teen suspect in connection with a Monday, June 9,
2008 home invasion. Detectives D Hutchens and A.
Alvarado are looking for Tyler Lee Hice, 16, of
6132 Sherwood Lane, Denver on one count of
first-degree burglary.
Hice is charged with breaking into a home at 4425
Catawba Burris Road around 2:50 a.m. Monday. The
breaking glass coming from the entrance door from
the carport awakened the homeowners. The wife hid
in a closet while the husband picked up a
double-barrel shotgun. He saw a beam from a
flashlight shining under the bedroom door. When
the intruder grabbed the doorknob he fired two
shots from the shotgun.
Officers searched the area until the afternoon of
the break-in without locating the suspect.
Hutchens and Alvarado say the investigation is on
going and more charges are expected to be filed.
Hice was also charged in April with first degree
burglary. He is accused of breaking into a home
on Renee Lane while a woman and her sons slept
inside. In that case the female victim told
officers she awoke to find Hice standing beside
her bed. The suspect ran from the residence and
was arrested a short time later.
Anyone with information about the whereabouts of
Tyler Hice should call Crime Stoppers at
704-736-8909. You could receive an award of up to
$1,000 if your tip leads to an arrest.
