Firefighters douse hot spots from a two-alarm fire at a Hestertown Road residence Friday night.

Mobile Home Destroyed
in Friday House Fire

SOUTH FORK – A two-alarm structure fire Friday night sent a total of four Lincoln County fire departments to a residence in the 700 block of Hestertown Road.

The South Fork Fire Department received manpower and apparatus assistance from Crouse, Lincolnton and the High Shoals Fire Departments in battling the mobile home fire, which was reported just before 10pm. The fire was called in to the Lincoln County 911 Center by a neighbor.

By the time firefighters arrived at the scene in the
700 block of Hestertown Road, the home was a total loss.

The mobile home was burnt to the ground by the time firefighters arrived on the scene. The home is a total loss.

“We did a preliminary sweep of the residence and didn’t’ find anyone inside,” said South Fork Fire Chief Rick Ellis.

The Lincoln County Fire Marshal’s Office is investigating the blaze. Electricity was running to the residence at the time of the fire.

Hestertown Road is located off Gates Road, which is off Business Highway 321 South.

Besides the four fire departments, West Lincoln Rescue, Lincoln EMS and the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office responded to the scene. Deputies were called to take a report on the fire.

The Boger CIty Fire Department provided manpower at the South Fork Fire Department while South Fork firefighters battled the fire.


A preliminary sweep of the residence on Hestertown Road revealed nobody was home at the time of the fire. Four fire departments responded around 10pm Friday.
