LINCOLNTON --
A fire that started in a dryer
at the Heath House on Wilma Sigmon Road
sent more than 25 residents of the
assistant living facility out in the
cold.
Around 8:09 p.m.,
Boger City firefighters, along with
Lincolnton firefighters, Lincoln Life
Saving Crew and Lincoln EMS responded to
the facility.
Transportation
Lincoln County was also called in to
assist the residents in wheelchairs.
Three people were transported to the
hospital with non life-threatening
injuries.
According to
Lincolnton Fire Chief Mike Lee, the main
damage to the Heath House was smoke.
"A commercial
clothes dryer smoked up," said Lee.
"It sent smoke throughout the
facility."
