ELDERLY MAN ASSAULTS FEMALE FRIEND

Herman Harris is charged with assaulting a friend on Pine Street.

By Jon Mayhew [LINCOLNTON] – A 69 year old man is jailed after he elbowed his 44 year old female friend in the jaw several times on Pine Street.

Officer Tony Potts responded to Carolinas Medical Center Lincoln just after 4am Tuesday.

“The victim said the suspect struck her several times in the jaw with his elbow,” said Potts. The incident report didn’t indicate what the argument between 44-year-old Willie Mae Wright and Herman Harris, 311 S. High Street, was over.

Harris even admitted to striking Wright. He was placed in custody at the hospital.

Harris was charged with assaulting a female and taken to the Harven A. Crouse Detention Center under a $1,500 secured bond. As of late Wednesday night, Harris was still in jail.
