WOMAN ASSAULTED AT LINCOLNTON RESIDENCE

By Jon Mayhew [LINCOLNTON] – Authorities responded to a residence in the 400 block of North Grove Street Saturday night after a woman was beaten up by an acquaintance.

The incident happened around 10:15pm. The extent of her injuries is unknown and the suspect had left the scene by the time authorities arrived to investigate.

Authorities identified the victim as Tina Franklin and couldn’t say where she was injured. As of late Saturday night, the assault was still under investigation.

Franklin was taken to Carolinas Medical Center Lincoln for treatment of injuries including short-term memory loss according to radio traffic.
