Granny’s Apple Butter Cookies

INGREDIENTS

  • ¼ cup softened butter or margarine
  • 1 cup packed brown sugar
  • 1 egg
  • ½ cup quick cooking oats
  • ½ cup apple butter
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • ½ tsp baking soda
  • ½ tsp baking powder
  • ½ tsp salt
  • 2 Tbs milk
  • ½ cup nuts, chopped
  • ½ cup raisins
DIRECTIONS:
  1. In a mixing bowl, cream butter or margarine and sugar. .
  2. Beat in egg, oats, and apple butter.
  3. Combine dry ingredients; gradually add to creamed mixture along with the milk; beat until blended.
  4. Stir in nuts and raisins.
  5. Chill well.
  6. Drop by teaspoonfuls onto a lightly greased cookie sheet. .
  7. Bake at 350F for 15 minutes.
NOTE:Freeze baked cookies in tins or freezer bags for the months ahead.
