A tasty gingerbread mansion
greets customers at Denver's Cool Beans and Sweet
Things.

DENVER -- With Halloween Friday,
one Lincoln County business is banking on
someones sweet tooth to buy a unique,
one-of-a-kind house.
Sue Mudd, owner of Cool Beans and Sweet Things on
Highway 16 has painstakingly built a
gingerbread house, complete with ghosts, goblins
and a graveyard.
Actually, its a haunted
mansion, said Mudd. Some of my
friends came up with the ghosts and
goblins.
Mudd said shes been making gingerbread
houses for the past three decades.
It took me about four days to make the
house, said Mudd.

According to creator Sue Mudd, the haunted
gingerbread mansion took four days to make.
So how much does a haunted mansion like
Mudds cost? She said the price tag is $200,
which includes the labor and ingredients.
And almost all of the house is edible, according
to Mudd.
The roof is the only thing that isnt
edible, said Mudd. As far as
gingerbread houses go, this one is pretty
cool.
And for Mudd, cool is something her
business is based on, Cool Beans and Sweet
Things.
Located on Highway 16 and Sara Drive in Denver,
Mudds business has been a Denver staple
since 2006.
Prior to opening in the house on the corner, Mudd
spent her days driving a coffee bus around the
Lincolnton area, where people would call and she
would take coffee and baked goods right to their
front door.
Today, the bus is gone; however, Mudds shop
is a popular gathering place for people to enjoy
many types of coffee, baked goods and even books,
something shes added at the first of the
year.
Used book sales benefit the Florence
Shanklin Library here in Denver, said Mudd.
Mudd said she also does candy and cookie
bouquets.
