Overnight garage fire under investigation


Flames shoot out of what is left of a garage during an early Friday
structure fire in Boger City on McClain Trail off Buffalo Shoals Road.

Firefighters from three departments were called to an overnight garage fire, where the structure was deemed a total loss.

When firefighters from Boger City, North 321 and Lincolnton arrived on the scene at 1841 McClain Trail off Buffalo Shoals Road, they found Gaither Lineberger's garage fully engulfed in flames.


Firefighters responding to the scene said Gaither Lineberger's
garage was fully engulfed in flames.

The original call came in around 2:30am; firefighters at the scene called for additional manpower from the Pumpkin Center Fire Department less than an hour later.

Lineberger told neighbors he heard a loud boom and awoke to find the roof blown off his garage. While no injuries were reported in the fire, Lineberger lost two vehicles, yard equipment and other items.


Lineberger told neighbors he was awakened by a loud boom,
looking out his window and seeing his garage on fire.

Boger City assistant chief Bryan Lynch said the Lincoln County Fire Marshal's Office is investigating the incident.
