POLICE
INVESTIGATING FRAUDULENT CHECKS
LINCOLNTON
-- A Food Lion employee in Boger City
tells police he felt like something
wasnt right after cashing a pair of
checks that were supposedly drawn on an
eastern Lincoln County business account.
And after
contacting the business, the
employees fears proved to be true.
Now, police are looking into two
fraudulent checks totaling more than
$560.
Around 9am Tuesday,
officer Tony Potts responded to the
Stamford Drive store to take a report.
The employee
was told by the business the account
number on the checks wasnt
theirs, said Potts.
The investigation
into the incident continues.
