CHARGED IN AUGUST ROBBERY

LINCOLNTON
-- Authorities make an arrest of
an Iron Station man and discover he's
wanted by Lincolnton Police on robbery
charges in a nearly five month old case.
Around
11am Saturday, Gary Lee Forney, 33, Iron
Station, was charged with common law
robbery and first degree burglary in the
Aug. 26 robbery of 49-year-old Jose
Rentma, 904 East Lincoln Street,
Lincolnton.
According
to Lincolnton Police detective Dennis
Harris, Forney entered Rentma's apartment
without permission and punched Rentma in
the face. Rentma wasn't seriously
injured.
Rentma
then said Forney robbed him of $25.
Forney
was served warrants on the city charges
at the Harven A. Crouse Detention Center
at John Howell Memorial Drive after being
taken into custody by deputies for
failing to appear in court. Bond for
Forney was set at $50,000 secured.
His
first appearance was set for Monday in
Lincolnton District Court.
