Follow-Up

BOGER CITY -- Authorities
arrested four people on several charges stemming
from an incident at Food Lion on East Main
Street, where three of the suspects actually
cashed in stolen coins before being apprehended.
Police arrested 22-year-old
David Wayne Hunsucker of Huss Street; Shannon
Rudisill of Lynch Street; Samuel Lawrence, 23, of
Massapoag Road; and Dershae Blackburn, 19, of
Gaston Street.
All four were charged with
two felony counts of breaking and entering,
larceny and conspiracy for breaking into at least
two residences in Lincolnton.
Hunsucker was arrested in the
5100 block of Lineberger Road in Denver and faces
additional charges of damage to property and drug
violations. He was taken to the Harven A. Crouse
Detention Center under a $58,000 secured bond.
Lynch, meantime, was arrested
at his residence and jailed under a $50,000 bond.
He faced additional drug charges.
Lawrence and Blackburn were
also charged with two counts of damage to
property and jailed under a $50,000 bond.
Authorities' big break in the
case came when three of the four suspects pulled
into Food Lion Tuesday afternoon. An alert
shopper saw the trio exit a vehicle, open the
trunk and remove a large black back.
The caller, thinking the
store was going to be robbed, notified
authorities. The trio used a change counting
machine in the store, then parted ways when
leaving the store.
The white male walked
straight towards Sgt. Willie Vaughn.
While being transported to
jail, the Lawrence suspect voiced his opinion on
The Carolina Scoop's coverage of the arrests made
in the case.
"What's the deal with
the cameraman," said Lawrence as he was
being led to an awaiting car.
With the four arrests,
Lincoln County investigators are now looking at
their unsolved breaking and entering cases to see
if any or all the suspects are connected.
