AUTHORITIES INVESTIGATING THREATS OVER FAKE DRUGS

LINCOLNTON – Police are investigating an assault after one man admitted to authorities he was sold fake crack cocaine that was actually soap flakes.

Officer Dave Mocanu said the suspect in the assault case called the police department to report the victim sold him counterfeit drugs.

Mocanu’s report indicated the victim said “I want him (the suspect) to know there’s consequences for selling soap as crack.”

“The suspect also freely admitted to me that he threatened to cut the victim’s throat,” said Mocanu, adding the suspect was armed with a knife at the time of the incident.

No charges were filed against the victim because the selling of the counterfeit substance occurred in the past. Neither the suspect nor victim wanted to press charges in the latest incident.
