Detective Mark Stamey with the Lincoln County Sheriff's Office is seeking the public's help in finding out who took an excavator from a construction site on March 8.

“Someone removed the Takeuchi Excavator from a construction site in Denver near the 3400 block of Highway 16 north,” said Lincoln County Sheriff's Department spokesman Ricky Hensley.

The excavator is gray with red lettering.

Anyone with information is asked to call Detective Mark Stamey at (704) 268-3051 or Crimestoppers of Lincolnton/Lincoln County at (704) 736-8909. Anonymous tips leading to an arrest in any crime may be eligible for a reward of up to $1,000.
