MAIDEN - Ethel Shultz Walker, age 90, of Best Way, Maiden passed away Thursday, July 16, 2009 at Lincoln Nursing Center in Lincolnton.

Born September 5, 1918 in Sevier County, TN., she was the daughter of the late John Shultz and the late Laura Freeman Shultz. Mrs. Walker was a member of Lawings Chapel Baptist Church in Maiden.

In addition to her parents, her husband, Johnnie Bostic Walker, one son, Larry Walker, one brother, Lee Shultz, one sister, Effie Hawkins and a granddaughter, Christy Walker, preceded her in death.

Survivors include:

4 Sons: Johnny Walker and wife, Harolene of Maiden; Grady Walker and wife, Linda of Maiden; Jerry Walker and wife, Carolyn of Lincolnton; Steve Walker and wife, Lorie of Maiden.

4 Daughters: Dot Fish and husband, Donald of Maiden; Frances Reinhardt and husband, Neal of Maiden; Janice Osborne of Maiden; Glenda Lowman and husband, William of Maiden.

1 Sister: Mabel Caldwell of Lincolnton.

26 Grandchildren and a number of great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.

The funeral service will be held Saturday, July 18, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. at Lawings Chapel Baptist Church in Maiden with the Rev. Randall Helms officiating. The body will lie in state 30 minutes prior to the service.

Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

The family will receive friends Friday, July 17, 2009 from 6:30 – 8:00 p.m. at Lawings Chapel Baptist Church in Maiden. At others times the family will be at the home of Steve and Lorie Walker.
