WOMAN
CHARGED WITH EMBEZZLEMENT, LARCENY FROM
CONVENIENCE STORE
Woman
arrested when reporting for work at Times Turn
Around

LINCOLNTON
-- Instead of clocking in for her shift
and starting work on Thursday, a 35-year-old
Lincolnton woman is arrested and taken
to jail, charged with stealing from her employer.
Brenda Wright
Parson of Magan Drive, Lincolnton, was arrested
around 3:40 p.m. by Lincolnton Police officer T.
Potts after reporting to work at Times Turn
Around on Laurel Street.
According to
Lincolnton Police chief Dean Abernathy, the case
involves a money order in the amount of $116. The
charge is a felony because Parson was an employee
at the store.
"The
suspect was printing money orders, then keeping
the money," said Abernathy. "The store
is doing an audit to see what else is
missing."
Abernathy added
the larceny charge comes from Parson stealing
beer on two occasions.
More charges may
be filed as the investigation is ongoing.
As of Friday
morning, Parson is still jailed in the Harven A.
Crouse Detention Center.
