Stone “stoned” at
time of arrest

By Jon Mayhew
A West Church Street woman admits to officers she had been smoking marijuana prior to a traffic stop where she was eventually arrested for driving while impaired.

Officer Brent Heavner stopped 35-year-old Elizabeth Ellen Stone on South Grove Street Wednesday just after midnight.

Stone was arrested and charged with driving while impaired.

During the stop, Stone made the admission to Officer Brent Heavner that she had been smoking pot. She wasn't charged with any marijuana-related offenses.

Stone's blood alcohol level was just over the legal limit of .08. She was taken to the Lincoln County Magistrate's Office, where Magistrate B. Bynum gave the woman an unsecured bond.

She has a court date of September 15, 2010.
