LINCOLNTON WOMAN CHARGED AFTER EMERGENCY ROOM BRAWL

GASTONIA -- Elaine Lavon Brown wasn't going to take "no" for an answer.

When hospital personnel told Brown, 43, Colonial Village, Lincolnton, that she couldn't leave, Brown became violent and punched a hospital worker in the chest.

Once she was released from the hospital, instead of going home, Brown was taken to the Gaston County Jail.

The incident started when Brown became upset after being told she couldn't leave the hospital. She also refused to stay in the bed.

According to an arrest warrant, Brown got up and started to remove the IV from her arm when Nurse Kelly Johnson stepped in and told her to stop. That's when the assault occurred. Brown is in Gaston County Jail under a $2,000 secured bond.
