MOUNT HOLLY - Edwina McDill Hunnicutt, 81, died June 14, 2009, at Morningside Assisted Living in Gastonia.

She was born in Little Rock, Ark., daughter of the late Dr. Thomas H. McDill and Emma Moody McDill.

She was wife of the late Frank Andrew Hunnicutt Jr.
She was preceded in death by one sister, Emogene McDill Mann Reeves and two brothers, Dr. Joseph McDill and Dr. Thomas McDill.

She was a retired school teacher, having taught at Mount Holly High School and North Gaston High School. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church in Mount Holly.

Survivors include one son, Frank Andrew Hunnicutt III and wife Susan of Denver; four grandchildren, Jennifer Moore and husband Justin of Monroe, Frankie Hunnicutt of Denver, Christina Hunnicutt of Mount Holly and Heather Hunnicutt of Denver; three great-grandchildren, Allora, Parker, and Greyson Moore.

Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Wednesday at the First Presbyterian Church in Mount Holly with the Rev. Jason Bryant officiating.

Interment will follow at Forest Lawn Cemetery in Charlotte.

The family will receive friends 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at Woodlawn Funeral Home in Mount Holly.
