HICKORY -
Edna Jane Brown Hager, 88, of Hickory, NC, passed away Tuesday June 23, 2009 at Brian Center East. Mrs. Hager was born July 5, 1920 in Lincoln County, the daughter of the late Charlie Brown and Catherin Nantz Brown.

She was a homemaker and a member of Union Grove Baptist Church in Huntersville.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Hager was preceded in death by her husband, Luther Eugene Hager; sisters, Ether Warlick, Rose Fulbright, Sadie Hager and Lois Keller; brothers, Howard Brown, James Brown, Cliff Brown and Guy Brown.

She is survived by daughters, Diane Smith and husband Bruce of Conover, Doris Turner and husband William of Hickory, Martha Louise Hager of Hickory and Susan Willis of Newton; son, Kenneth Hager and wife Sylvia; grandchildren, Debbie Pimlott, Valerie Ramirez, Dan Turner, Mark Turner, Sandy Smith, Crystal Howie, Kim McCord, Johnny Killian, and Randy Willis; great-grandchildren, Skye and Savannah Ramirez, Sarah Page Killian, J. T. Willis, Miranda, Kassidy and Charles Avery (Cam) McCord, Kyndal and Kaitlyn Howie and Thomas Lutz.

A service of remembrance will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday June 25, 2009, in the chapel of Drum Funeral Home in Hickory, with the Rev. Kim Dowell officiating. Burial will follow in Woodlawn Memorial Gardens.

The Hager family will receive friends from 9:30 a.m. – 10:45 a.m. prior to the service at the funeral home.
