MOTORIST TAKES DRIVE
THRU CONCEPT TO HEART

By Jon Mayhew

LINCOLNTON -- A motorist takes the concept of the drive-thru literally during the Thanksgiving weekend holiday.

Officers responded to reports of a motor vehicle accident at the Hair Works at 2624 East Main Street early Thursday morning.

Officer Richard Taylor's report indicated he spotted the vehicle crashed in front of the business, with the driver still inside the car. The driver was identified as 24-year-old Justin Mark Cook of Crouse.

Field sobriety tests on Cook indicated the presence of alcohol. Cook was taken into custody by fellow officer M. Sain and charged with driving while impaired.

The business suffered minimal damage.

Cook was given a $2,500 secured bond and a court date of Dec. 19 in Lincolnton District Court.
