LINCOLNTON – Mr. David Stevens King, age 58 of Lincolnton, died on Wednesday, July 1, 2009.

A memorial service will be held 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, July 4, 2009 in the Warlick Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Gary Rankin officiating.

Mr. King was born September 9, 1950 in Gaston County to the late James Fred and Thelma Anita Houck King. He was also preceded in death by brothers Darrell and Randy King. Mr. King was a long-haul truck driver. He also served in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict.

He is survived by his wife, Jeannette McGinnis Burgess King of the home; daughter, Sonya L. Burgess Griffey of the home; sister, Terry L. King of Lincolnton; nephew and family, John Fred King and wife Jennifer Johnson King as well as their son, Patrick Stephen King of Gastonia; niece and her family, Abbey King Smith and husband Mike as well as their daughter Parker Smith of Dallas; grandchildren, Steven and Lauren Moore and Rylee Griffey of the home; sister-in-law Bonnie Blakenship King; special cousin Jeff Sherrill of Winston-Salem and close family and friends, Teresa Clodfelter and Bill Harmon, and Stephanie Griffey.

In lieu of flowers, the family request memorials be made to Hospice of Lincoln County, 107 N. Cedar Street, Lincolnton, N.C. 28092.

Warlick Funeral Home is serving the King family.
