HILL, SC - David Keever, formerly of Lincolnton, N.C.
passed away Tuesday morning, June 2, 2009 at the Hospice and
Community Care facility in Rock Hill, S.C.
He was born on December 19, 1938 in Lincolnton, N.C., the son of
the late Zeb Thomas Keever and Kathleen Jenkins Keever. In
addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his twin
brother, Donald Reeves Keever.
David graduated from Lincolnton High School and the University of
North Carolina School of Pharmacy. For 40 years, he and his
brother Thomas owned and operated Lincoln Drugs, Inc. and Keever
Pharmacy in Lincolnton. He served as an incorporator for Lincoln
Bank of North Carolina and as a member of the Board of Directors
until he resigned due to illness. After his retirement in 1998,
David continued his passion of serving his community as a
volunteer for the Helping Hands Health Clinic in Lincolnton. In
2004 he was honored with the Volunteer of the Year. He also
offered his time and love for children in the mentoring program
Wonderful Wednesday at First Presbyterian Church.
David and Ann married in June, 1971 and started a life together
of friendship and a loving bond that few ever have a chance to
experience. David is survived by two brothers, Zeb Thomas Keever,
Jr. and wife Janice, Dr. Richard J. Keever and wife Evie; niece
Cammie Hackney and husband Gene, nephews Thomas Keever and wife
Julie, Daniel Keever and wife Amber, Andrew Keever and wife Meg;
great-nephews and nieces Josh Waltson, Caitlyn Scurria, Minor
Medlin, Andrew Thomas Keever, Jackson Keever, and Embry Keever.
He is also survived by one brother-in-law James R. Willis, Jr. ;
nephew James Willis, and niece Michelle Hefner and husband Scott;
great nephews Aaron and Michael Hefner. His very special Aunt
Mary Lu was so loved by David.
The family will receive friends at Warlick Funeral Home in
Lincolnton Monday, June 8 from 6:30 until 8:30 p.m.. A
Celebration of Life service will be held on Tuesday, June 9 at
4:00 pm at First Presbyterian Church in Lincolnton. A reception
in the fellowship hall will be held after the service.
